A fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our small and thriving family run business. We are seeking a hard working individual who will enjoy working in a friendly but busy environment. Our office is based in a beautiful rural location with on-site parking.
Hycom is fast paced and needs an individual that understands urgency as the speed of our actions and decision making will dictate the overall profit levels on a job. We are friendly, not overly contractual and seek end user clients.
Hycom is now in its 18th year. We are a tightly knit and friendly customer focused business, and have celebrated an annual growth of 20% for the last 5 years. We are targeting over £2million in 2023 and are looking for a project executive who will help us grow and understand the need to hit project profit targets, whilst delivering incredible customer service.

An Overview
● Dealing with clients and their representatives before, during and after project completion via email and telephone.
● Phone calls to build relationships in construction, whilst backing up arrangements on email, and updating our CRM is crucial. You need to be firm, friendly and fair in order to retain and develop customers.
● Identifying and controlling risk, whilst flagging potential risk elements of the ongoing projects.
● Reporting cost changes to the QS team and having ultimate control on profit margins with the responsibility to introduce cost savings to ensure the success of the company's project department.
● Contract negotiation: the assumptions from our contracts received can be tested and declined as it is only the first round of negotiations.
Day to Day
● Project tracking meetings.
● Making pre-project start calls to check assumptions, as technical information is crucial.
● Gathering and checking assumptions with technical and contractual information.
● Preparing and sending R.A.M.S.
● Organising, scheduling and sending job sheets and purchase orders for sub-contractors.
● Helping to resolve contract/relationship issues that occur on site.
● Working closely with our in-house Quantity Surveyor, ensuring tracking variations, whilst seeking customer approval with minimal time delays.
● Assisting in ordering materials on time and material logistics with site.
● Using a handful of software systems simultaneously, following a workflow designed to benefit all parties.
Your Skillset
● Be a great communicator with the ability to communicate verbally in a clear, polite and professionalmanner over the phone. Clear and concise through the written word via email.
● Preferrably have experience in the construction industry, or a similar fast paced industry with the understanding of difficulties faced day to day on building sites across the UK.
● Have the ability to see the detail in words and numbers, and the ability to stay alert within a fast paced working environment, with multiple daily deadlines.
● Previous experience with project organisation is preferred.
● Be a good problem solver and have the ability to make difficult decisions if necessary.
● A positive outlook and a "can do" attitude that will influence the outcome of all day to day tasks, which lead to positive major outcomes.
● Enjoy interacting with people, both internal and external to the company.
● Excellent organisation, self motivation and ability to prioritise tasks.
● Ability to work in a team.
● Resilience to adversity and have a calm nature to deal with problems in changing environments.
● Be able to use your own initiative.
● Prepared to take control and do the necessary hours to complete the job, keen to progress and earn money.

Construction Project Executive
Salary: £20,000-£35,000 to be confirmed based on experience
Construction Project Manager
Salary: £35,000-£50,000 to be confirmed based on experience

Schedule
● Monday to Friday.
● Normally 8 hours per day, flexible between the hours of 07:30 - 17:30.
● We are busy in the summer so hours to suit can be gained back.
● Office based with some requirement to visit sites.
● Will need to be committed to work extra hours to succeed, be available for some communications although few on rare weekends.
● Work remotely: No.
Education
● GCSE A-C in Maths and English essential.
● Project or construction management qualifications preferred.
Experience
● Some experience within the construction industry would be preferred, and beneficial to the job role.
● Project Manager.
● Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 - JCT.
● Driving license.
