We're pleased to announce that Altro Fortis Titanium is now available to buy from Hycom, bringing a tough, durable wall protection solution to our growing range of wall cladding and protection products.

Altro Fortis Titanium is designed for areas where walls, doors and corners are exposed to knocks, scrapes and heavy traffic. It is ideal for busy environments where painted surfaces can struggle to stand up to everyday use.

From school corridors and healthcare environments to public areas and service spaces, it's designed to keep vulnerable surfaces protected and looking better for longer.

What is Altro Fortis Titanium?

Altro Fortis Titanium is an extruded 2.5mm semi-rigid PVC sheet designed specifically to protect walls and doors from the knocks and bumps that come with busy environments.

It's dense, impervious and resistant to impact, with a lightly textured surface that helps to camouflage everyday scuffs and marks.

The sheets measure 3000 x 1220mm, providing substantial coverage whilst creating a durable, easy-to-maintain surface.

And there's an important detail that makes Fortis Titanium particularly practical: the colour runs throughout the sheet.

That means minor knocks and scratches are less noticeable than they might be on a surface where the underlying material is a different colour, helping your walls continue to look good even in areas that experience plenty of wear and tear.

Where can Altro Fortis Titanium be used?

Altro Fortis Titanium has been developed for areas subject to high levels of traffic and everyday impact.

Typical applications include:

• School and education corridors

• Busy public areas

• Service areas

• Dry changing rooms

• Patient rooms

• Doors and plasterboard walls

It's particularly useful in places where wheeled traffic, equipment, bags, furniture and general day-to-day activity can quickly leave traditional painted surfaces looking tired.

Walls can take a surprising amount of punishment during a school day. Bags are dragged along corridors, furniture is moved and equipment is wheeled from one room to another.

One of the things we particularly like about Altro Fortis Titanium is the choice of colours.

The current range includes 11 colours, from light neutrals through to stronger shades, giving you plenty of scope to create a practical finish without defaulting to plain white.

The colours also coordinate with many shades in the Altro Whiterock Satins range, making it easier to create a consistent look when different wall products are being used in different areas of a project.

This is particularly useful when you're specifying a project where some areas need impact protection and others need the additional hygienic benefits of a wall cladding system.

Fortis Titanium or hygienic wall cladding?

This is an important distinction.

Altro Fortis Titanium isn't intended to replace hygienic wall cladding in every application. Instead, it's another tool in the toolbox.

For areas where the priority is creating a hygienic, seamless and cleanable wall system, a product such as Altro Whiterock may be the more appropriate choice.

If the main challenge is protecting walls and doors from knocks, bumps and general impact, Fortis Titanium can provide a robust protective layer.

And in some projects, the best solution may be a combination of the two.

For example, you might use hygienic wall cladding in a clinical or food preparation area and Fortis Titanium in adjacent corridors or circulation areas where impact protection is the bigger concern.
